well i got the last crummy section done on the ghia today,had kind of a screwed up day,cuz of errands and b.s.,taxes and what have you,i been tryin to not get aggravated lately,like on sunday,the one day at the shop where you'd think you can work in peace ininterupted,well,i get to the shop,right as i get out of my truck a guy pulls up and wants some welding done,takes about an hour n a half,while he's there i hear a car honkin its horn.my shop is in a private complex with a gate.so people pull up and lay on  the horn till i come out.
the last place our shop was located,i painted the windows black and locked the door..people would stand out there and beat on the door and i would just ignore them till they left.
they knew i was in there cuz they could hear me,and my truck was parked out front.what i cant come to grips with,is how do you run a business in which you ate the only one who can do what people are paying you to do,without actually having to interact with the customer???
seriously,some days i get an hours worth of work done in 9 hours!!i watch on tv,big name builders..they hang out in the office while they have a bunch of drones down in the shop doin all the work...originally they themselves obviously did all the work...after they reached a certain level of success they migrated to a comfy chair and a telephone.
but that is not me..the only reason i do this,is because customizing fullfills me and intrigues me...i dont have a long term plan of eventually paying an employee to do what i do...that will never happen,and to be honest,i have no idea how it can happen to others who call themselves customizers...

so this karmann ghia is to the last big pain in the nuts point. i hate it when you have a rusted out section that is like 4 layers deep.the outer rocker,you cut that away,make a pattern for the rusted out inner rocker,cut that out,make a pattern for the heater channel cover,cut that out then make a pattern for the heater channel.

on the dodge i decided to start the body mods with filling in the knockout on the fender for the bumper,start on the easy stuff and move on to the more difficult is what im thinkin

so i cant remember where i left off,but im gonna try n commit a couple hours a day to the dodge,that way i can keep maintaining all my other obligations,look at the pics...im too tired to write...got my new computer though,so i should be more vigilant on my blog

so me markus and the boys spent all day re-organizing the shop,haulin stuff out to marks house,and we got the 3208 cat motor pulled out of the dodge.so, we'll start on the remaining body mods and installing a different drivetrain in.the twins found a jar of coins at the shop,so on our way home we stopped at fred meyers and put it in the change machine...30 bucks!...not bad at all. of course they spent it all on toys in like 5 minutes

so the boys wanted to go to the shop today,im already sick of workin on that bicycle thing,plus i kinda had to get it out of the way.so i had em start workin on the '49 dodge coronet choptop.my business manager was at the shop the other day,he was lookin at the dodge,and he was like,why dont you,instead of doin the diesel engine in it for bonneville,just put a v-8 drivetrain in it,and drive it on the street and enjoy it more than one week a year.so,i thought about it,made sense to me. plus,i make such outrageous designs,i cant even finish em!so the boys will be all hands on deck to help on it

yesterday for some reason i could only load 1 picture,so here's some more....again,those handlebars arent the ones that are goin on it.but i think the neihbor guy down the way from us is gonna make clip-ons.he has a cnc and always lookin for cool stuff to make for us.

so ive been without a computer,so i havent been able to blog.i ordered a new computer online,it was supposed to get it the next day,but it never showed up,so i dont know what happened.lots goin on though,but im too tired to get too crazy.
mark did pretty much get the rotax racer done,were just waitin for clip-ons.mark just put them bars on to run the electrics to the switches

first things first

 so the one and only bill woods came up from seattle yesterday,along with motozombie omar,we worked on gettin ulcer breakfast runnin.good news! they got it runnin.got most the bugs worked out. i was kinda detained to the bathroom most the afternoon cuz i was having a medical procedure done the following day,which required my bowels to be completely empty. i was rattling like a tin can!!

 the reason i named this post first things first,was cuz i wanted to give a beard update on markus,but then the picture didnt end up loading first...but here's the beard update..markus has been battling shaving it off,but he has a huge group of friends supporting him...so he says he might be able to make the 1 year mark,only like 7 and a half more months!...crazy thing is, none of the friends supporting him are of the female gender!
