tribute to dennis

so as you go through life, you occasionally meet people that change you forever.i first stumbled into dennis's shop about ten years ago.i needed some machining done,i had no idea he was a racing frame builder,or that he was a welder.his shop is on the same property as his house, out in the county, there's just a sign out front that says "circle f machine"
it was right down the road from my shop,so i just went in there cuz of the close proximity to my shop.at first i could tell he thought i was kind of a weirdo, cuz he's very reserved and quiet.but over time, weve gotten to be good friends.
whats funny about dennis,is his obsession with perfection.its funny to me,mainly cuz he has no idea how perfect everything he does is! its kind of hard to explain, everything he builds is perfect! if there's anyhting wrong with it,it goes in the garbage can!
now, up to this point in my life, i fancied myself as a pretty good fabricator.after seeing the work he did...i realized i wasnt even a fabricator!
so if in this small way,i can expose this guy to the world,im gonna do it,because he has been a huge inspiration to me,to never say something is "good enough", and i gotta say, since ive become friends with him,the level of quality in my work has been steadily going up!
he doesnt have a website...he never goes online,im quite sure he will never have a website, and i know my pictures are crummy, but try look at the fit of everything on the frame, all the lugs, oiltank in the backbone, the little sheetmetal reinforcements, the shock tower connection ...everything is nuts on!
on another note,i put some pics up of the solid alum struts mark made for the swingarm,he also milled all the spacers for it,top notch job! the pice of alum mark is holding up is a mount for the chain gaurd.
note marks beard.also sorry about the topless shot of me.....had to do it.....on this build we decided to use the blue nvajo blanket.....people please!!
